October Ipsy Bag!

Categories

Hey! I hope you are well. October has been a busy month so far with school and work so when my ipsy bag comes in the mail, I get to relax a bit and play around with the products! I am finally on fall break so typing up this post is perfect to kick it off.  The bag itself screams all things fall and Halloweeny. I love the lace detail it has and the shade of red it is. This months products are pretty good from just swatching them. I have been eyeing one of these products for years now, so I am excited to see how I like it. ipsyoctproducts.jpg

The product I am talking about is Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide in liner in Perversion. This liner I heard about from a few youtubers and was curious about it. But with it being a liner pencil, I wasn’t expecting it to stay out and not smudge. When I swatched this liner on the back of my hand, It was nice and soft, went on super easy and it had a lot of pigment to it. Now for the smudging and fading I was expecting. There was absolutely no smudging whatsoever. This liner really impressed me and I haven’t even properly used it! ublinerperv.jpglinerswatch.jpg

Next is a shadow from Meech and Mia. It is their loose shadow in purple. The swatch I did is so pretty. It’s more of a silvery purple color with greenish shades. I like that when it catches the light, it looks like three to four different colors.   meech&miasha.jpgmeechsawtch

Next is another highlight from Doucce. It is a pearly pink color that gives off such a pretty shine. doucceshad.jpgdoucceswatch.jpg

Next is an eye cream from the brand Skyn Iceland. Icelandic Relief Eye Cream has Glacial Flower Extract. This has a custard like consistency and it feels so thick and rich. I cannot wait to hopefully give my under eyes some relief. eyeskyn.jpg Last is from It Cosmetics and it’s their Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder. I have used products from this brand before and I have never been disappointed by their products so I am looking forward to how this words for me.itcosmetics powder.jpg itpowder.jpg

What’s in my bag?

Categories

Hey! Welcome back! I hope you are well.  I have been trying to schedule time for my page since school has started along with working as well, so it has been a bit difficult. However, I am planning out ways to still take photos and plan out posts. So, as the title says my bag contains things that are practical  and that are always in my bag so let’s get to it!

I pretty much always have a lip balm around since my lips are almost always dry. This one from Carmex is one I have been able to get through it without losing it and I really like it! It is medicated which helps greatly!lipcar.jpg

Pen’s are always sitting in my bag. I always tons of pens in my bag, for class, work, etc. penbag.jpg

This EOS hand cream is a product that smells so light, sweet and floraly while keeping my hands nice and moisturized.eoshang.jpg

This Mario Badescue facial spray has seen better days but I always have a facial spray in my bag to freshen up my skin or if I overdid it on the setting spray. I love the rose smell of this stuff ! badescuspray.jpg

Hand sanitizer is essential for me if I’ve been out all day. This sanitizer from the Body Shop smells like creamy coconut and I just love that I don’t smell the alcohol in this. handsan.jpg

A bag of Mint tea goes around with me all the time. I just love the fresh taste of it and if I’ve had coffee already I grab some decaf mint tea! teabag.jpg

This lipstick knife was gifted to me by my boyfriend and I always have it! I love that it’s in the classic black tube with gold. lipknife.jpg

Skincare Products I Swear By!

Categories

Hello! I hope you are well. I want to talk about skincare and the products/habits that have drastically changed my skin for the better. My skin texture was rough, splotchy, acne prone and makeup just would not look right until I started incorporating these products into my skincare routine.

Hyaluronic Acid is a product I have been using for several years and a few weeks into using it everyday, people started complimenting my skin and how smooth it looked. I have seen my skin appear more plump, soft and hydrated. I use this one from Measurable Difference every morning before I start my makeup and I love love it.hyaskin.jpg

Drinking water is a given when it comes to having good skin, but it is so true. It has made my skin break out a lot less and has made my skin look brighter.

SPF is so important to add into your skincare routine. I remember my older sister telling me to put SPF on my face everyday, even if it was cloudy out. It took me a while to finally listen, but I’ve been using it for years now, and no matter the weather, I know my face is protected from the sun. This one from Simple Skincare is a moisturizer and SPF in one which helps a lot. To me, it smells like glue, but once it dries, the smells fades.spfskin.jpg

Vitamin E oil has made my skin look super bright and this one from Jason smells so good. I apply this at night in the palm of my hand and press it into my skin. My face just looks so plump once absorbed and the acne scars seem to fade overnight!jasonoilskin.jpg

A good face mask every week has really helped my skin feel renewed and amazing. I don’t just have one masks that helps me achieve this as every masks helps my skin in some way, whether it be to exfoliate, brighten, peel, or calm. I love this one from Garnier because you can use it as a cleanser and a mask. The smell of this stuff is amazing as well!maskskin.jpg

July Favorites!

Categories

Hello! I hope you are well.  Today is the last day of the month so here are my July Favorites!

This All Nighter setting spray from Urban Decay smells a bit like hairspray but it helps everything stick. I like how my makeup is exactly where I left it several hours later.allnighterspray .jpg

I’ve talked about this product before but It really has made it into my favorites in the little time I have had it. This Velvetine lip, Schroom by Lime Crime is quickly becoming my favorite nude lip product. While I hate the smell of it, once it dries it is perfection. I love the brown tone of this product and how long it stays on! limecrime shroom.jpg

Dry shampoos are something I use about 3-4 times a week and I love that this one from Lush isn’t a aerosol spray. I have had this for almost a year and I haven’t even used 1/4 of it. I love this stuff. It smells citrusy and I love that it doesn’t make my hair feel heavy/gross.dry shampoo.jpg

Hyaluronic Acid is such an amazing product. I use this stuff at night and to blend in my concealer for my undereyes. It plumps my skin and makes it look super smooth and hydrated. hyaacid.jpg

Non-Beauty Favorites.

Sex and The City– I watched this show when I was in highschool but I didn’t exactly relate to it until I got older. I watched the entire series in 2 1/2 weeks. This show makes me feel more comfortable in my skin as a women in ever sense of the word. It has made me tear up countless of times and has made me laugh out loud while eating breakfast. I have just have a newfound love for this show and the lovely actors in it.

Yoga– I started yoga this month and I am feeling so good. My body feels more flexible, energized and a bit more toned. I can’t wait to roll my mat out and get to doing a downward dog. My pups even sit on the mat and take stretch their lil bods out.

Face Masks!

Categories

Hello! I hope you are well.  What is your favorite step in your skincare routine? Face masks are something I always love doing. I instantly feel like I am fully relaxing when I have taken all my makeup off, am in the comfiest of clothes and am sitting on my couch watching Chelsea on a Friday night. I tend to use the same two but I love incorporating a few others into my facial mask family. Let’s talk about them!

The first is one I use about 3 times a week. However, one of those time is as a full facial mask. The other times I use them are for spot treatment. Indian Healing Clay Mask is 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay. I talk about this mask way too much but since I’ve now made a post all about masks, I think I can lay it to rest and try not to mention it anymore. This mask is it in powder form that will be activated with either apple cider vinegar or water if you have sensitive skin. This facial mask is the most effective one I have ever used. I feel is get deep into my pores and remove all the dirt and oil that has built up throughout the day. It will bubble a bit but that just means it’s working away! I loved removing the mask and seeing that my face is a bit rosy. That is because it has pumped blood to my face. This will go away after about 5 minutes. What is left is super clean and plump skin.indianmask.jpg

Sleeping masks are such heaven. I know it’s working away at giving me a boost of hydration.  This one from Freeman Beauty is their Beauty Infusion Brightening Overnight Mask with Hibiscus and Vitamin C. This was a bit of an iffy product for me at first. The first time I used this, my skin felt like it was on fire. I stopped using it because I thought my face was too sensitive for it, but I noticed it only felt that way when I exfoliated my skin. So when I use this mask, I skip the exfoliation. It has a lovely floral scent and a gel cream consistency.sleepmask.jpg

Peel-Off masks are such a favorite of mine. This one from Soo Ae is a Purifying Brightening Peeling mask. I love a good peel off mask. It removes dead skin, leaving a smooth, hydrated canvas and peeling it off is oddly satisfying. (Side note: recently used this and it is not a peel off mask. It is just an exfoliating peeling gel. My bad. Still a good product though!)peelingmask.jpg

I have been on the hunt for a bubble mask that I can simply get one use out of it. These packets from Soo Ae are amazing because they come in so many types of masks and are only 2.50 at Walmart. This one if their Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask. Like the description for these say, “it is like giving your face a bubble bath!” I have yet to use them but will get back to you as soon as I do to review this mask.bubblemask.jpg

Face masks are the highlight of my skincare time. It’s always fun for me to have a green face and have my boyfriend look at me like I am the Lockeness Monster and for my pups to sniff my face and wonder what happened to their mom. I love that my face is being taken care of while I make food, paint my nails or while I watch Netflix! I can’t get enough face masks. I have yet to try any paper masks, so if you have any recommendations, let me know!

Tips for controlling breakouts!

Categories

Hello! I hope you are well. Today I am talking about what I do when I see or feel a nasty breakout begin to bubble up. I’ve gotten a few products together to form a team that will always stop my planet zit in its tracks!

The first thing I go for when I feel a breakout begin is to put makeup on that area at the very end of my makeup routine. This helps me to not spread that bacteria from the effected area out anywhere else on my face.

Next, I will wash my face using Garnier’s SkinActive Clean+Pore Purifying 2-in-1 Clay Cleanser….what a name. This product smells manly and clean and I am all about that. This is for oily skin so if you have more of a normal skin,  try using the Invigorating Daily Scrub for Normal skin. Back to the Clay Cleanser. This removes all the dirt and oil from my face and leaves it feeling soft and polished.claybreak.jpg

To wash my face, I love using my Vanity Planet spin for perfect skin facial brush. I talk about this thing way to much. When I don’t use this, I can tell my face isn’t as clean. This brush makes me feel so confident that any bacteria from the affected area will be treated and clean. vpbreakbrush.jpg

The next thing I do is something I swear by. I’ve made a post about this product before and it is the Indian Healing Clay Mask. This product is in powder form. You add equal parts of apple cider vinegar (or water if you have sensitive skin) and of the Clay powder. I love using this mask about once a week to give my face a super deep clean. For days when I have a breakout the size of Jupiter forming, I take a q-tip, dip it in apple cider vinegar and then into the powder and dot it on any problem areas. I cannot tell you how many times I have woken up and it has vanished that soon to be zit. Go back a bit to read more about this facial product. clayvine.jpg

Another easy thing you can do is make sure your pillow cases are nice and clean. I always put my hair in a pony tail to keep the oils from getting into my pillow. Another thing is I try and sleep on my back to prevent myself from getting unecessary oils into my pores, thus causing breakouts.

Washing your makeup brushes on the regular is pretty obvious but why not include it. It is important thing to keep those breakouts at bay. After you get rid of that breakout, make sure to wash your brushes to make sure you don’t cause another one from forming.

And of course, do not sleep with your makeup on. You need your skin to get a good nights rest too! And drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated!
What do you do to control those breakouts?

Morning Routine!

Categories

Hello! I hope all is well with you. I recently wrote a post about my night time skin care routine so I thought I would do a morning skincare routine!

The first thing I do in the morning is splash my face with water because it feels so amazing to rinse my skin first thing in the morning.  Then, I like using my Garnier Micellar water to take off any dirt and oil that built up last night. Next I take my 98% Aloe Vera gel and apply it all over my face. I love how refreshing this makes my skin feel. It absorbs quickly and I love the smell of aloe vera. aloevfeat.jpg

Then I wil go to my Dermasil Retinol Oil free day cream and apply that. It is quite a thick moisturizer but it leaves my skin very hydrated and feeling plump.dermasilret.jpg

Once the moisturizer is absorbed I will take my Simple Skincare Protecting Light SPF 15 Moisturizer. I’ve finally been able to stay consistent with a facial sunscreen. It has the slightest scent of sunscreen and after using it for about half a year, I have never noticed a white cast that sunscreens tend to leave. I am loving this stuff!spfmorn.jpg

Now, I have to wake up my undereyes! I recently purchased H20’s Instant Hydrating Stick. It instantly feels so cool and icy which I absoutely love! I pat that in with my ring  finger and I am set!eyeh20.jpg

After all of this, I am ready for a day of makeup or a day hanging around the apartment watching Youtube videos, Netflix, and taking my pups to the park.
