Face Masks!

Hello! I hope you are well.  What is your favorite step in your skincare routine? Face masks are something I always love doing. I instantly feel like I am fully relaxing when I have taken all my makeup off, am in the comfiest of clothes and am sitting on my couch watching Chelsea on a Friday night. I tend to use the same two but I love incorporating a few others into my facial mask family. Let’s talk about them!

The first is one I use about 3 times a week. However, one of those time is as a full facial mask. The other times I use them are for spot treatment. Indian Healing Clay Mask is 100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay. I talk about this mask way too much but since I’ve now made a post all about masks, I think I can lay it to rest and try not to mention it anymore. This mask is it in powder form that will be activated with either apple cider vinegar or water if you have sensitive skin. This facial mask is the most effective one I have ever used. I feel is get deep into my pores and remove all the dirt and oil that has built up throughout the day. It will bubble a bit but that just means it’s working away! I loved removing the mask and seeing that my face is a bit rosy. That is because it has pumped blood to my face. This will go away after about 5 minutes. What is left is super clean and plump skin.indianmask.jpg

Sleeping masks are such heaven. I know it’s working away at giving me a boost of hydration.  This one from Freeman Beauty is their Beauty Infusion Brightening Overnight Mask with Hibiscus and Vitamin C. This was a bit of an iffy product for me at first. The first time I used this, my skin felt like it was on fire. I stopped using it because I thought my face was too sensitive for it, but I noticed it only felt that way when I exfoliated my skin. So when I use this mask, I skip the exfoliation. It has a lovely floral scent and a gel cream consistency.sleepmask.jpg

Peel-Off masks are such a favorite of mine. This one from Soo Ae is a Purifying Brightening Peeling mask. I love a good peel off mask. It removes dead skin, leaving a smooth, hydrated canvas and peeling it off is oddly satisfying. (Side note: recently used this and it is not a peel off mask. It is just an exfoliating peeling gel. My bad. Still a good product though!)peelingmask.jpg

I have been on the hunt for a bubble mask that I can simply get one use out of it. These packets from Soo Ae are amazing because they come in so many types of masks and are only 2.50 at Walmart. This one if their Charcoal Clay Bubble Mask. Like the description for these say, “it is like giving your face a bubble bath!” I have yet to use them but will get back to you as soon as I do to review this mask.bubblemask.jpg

Face masks are the highlight of my skincare time. It’s always fun for me to have a green face and have my boyfriend look at me like I am the Lockeness Monster and for my pups to sniff my face and wonder what happened to their mom. I love that my face is being taken care of while I make food, paint my nails or while I watch Netflix! I can’t get enough face masks. I have yet to try any paper masks, so if you have any recommendations, let me know!

Go To Lipsticks!

Hello hello! I hope you are well. I recently made a lipsitck post of all of my favorite lip colors, but I want to make a post about my go to, everyday lipsticks. Like most, I love my standard nude color but I also have one shade that gives a 90s brown spin on the everyday lip color. So let’s get to it!

Shroom from Lime Crime is such the perfect nude brown color. It has quickly become a staple in my lipstick collection. I love the staying power of this product and the 90s tone it has when applied with a darker eye. This color is so versatile that it matches with everylook. I wore this with orange hued eyes and that color combo was perfect. The one thing I will mention is the smell. At first, it wasn’t too bad, but after a bit, that is all  I can smell until it dries on my lips. After that, the smell is gone.lcshroom.jpgshroomswatch .jpg

The first is from NYX. It is from their soft matte lip cream collection. London is the perfect color for me. It is the color of my lips but it enhances it so much more. I love that it feels like a lip balm when applied but once dried, it feels so light and creamy. I wear this color so much and have it in my bag at all times. It matches every look I am wearing that day and looks so natural. abudhabilipcream.jpg

This lip color is also from NYX. Abu Dhabi is also from their soft matte lip cream line. It has more of a pink shade. I don’t tend to go for the pink shades because my skin color is towards the olive color. However, this color has just the right amount of pink. It’s such the perfect shade for my skin color. I go for Abu Dhabi when I have more of a neutral lip and want to add a bit of color. lipcreamlast.jpg

Tips for controlling breakouts!

Hello! I hope you are well. Today I am talking about what I do when I see or feel a nasty breakout begin to bubble up. I’ve gotten a few products together to form a team that will always stop my planet zit in its tracks!

The first thing I go for when I feel a breakout begin is to put makeup on that area at the very end of my makeup routine. This helps me to not spread that bacteria from the effected area out anywhere else on my face.

Next, I will wash my face using Garnier’s SkinActive Clean+Pore Purifying 2-in-1 Clay Cleanser….what a name. This product smells manly and clean and I am all about that. This is for oily skin so if you have more of a normal skin,  try using the Invigorating Daily Scrub for Normal skin. Back to the Clay Cleanser. This removes all the dirt and oil from my face and leaves it feeling soft and polished.claybreak.jpg

To wash my face, I love using my Vanity Planet spin for perfect skin facial brush. I talk about this thing way to much. When I don’t use this, I can tell my face isn’t as clean. This brush makes me feel so confident that any bacteria from the affected area will be treated and clean. vpbreakbrush.jpg

The next thing I do is something I swear by. I’ve made a post about this product before and it is the Indian Healing Clay Mask. This product is in powder form. You add equal parts of apple cider vinegar (or water if you have sensitive skin) and of the Clay powder. I love using this mask about once a week to give my face a super deep clean. For days when I have a breakout the size of Jupiter forming, I take a q-tip, dip it in apple cider vinegar and then into the powder and dot it on any problem areas. I cannot tell you how many times I have woken up and it has vanished that soon to be zit. Go back a bit to read more about this facial product. clayvine.jpg

Another easy thing you can do is make sure your pillow cases are nice and clean. I always put my hair in a pony tail to keep the oils from getting into my pillow. Another thing is I try and sleep on my back to prevent myself from getting unecessary oils into my pores, thus causing breakouts.

Washing your makeup brushes on the regular is pretty obvious but why not include it. It is important thing to keep those breakouts at bay. After you get rid of that breakout, make sure to wash your brushes to make sure you don’t cause another one from forming.

And of course, do not sleep with your makeup on. You need your skin to get a good nights rest too! And drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated!
What do you do to control those breakouts?

Summer Highlighters!

Hello! I hope you are well. It is officially summer and it is all about having that glowy skin, but why not turn the volume up on that glow?  I have become obsessed with highlighters because it instanly gives my face such a light and glow. During the summer, I tend to put a bit extra on.  So… let’s get into these highlighters!

The first highlight I want to talk about is the very first one I got myself. It’s called Wisp from Colourpop. I have had this one for about 3 years now and I have just hit pan on this baby. I love that it has a slight bronze color it has the the instant glow it gives. This has a cream consistency and I love the price and color range of Colourpop’s highlighters.wispcphigh.jpg

The next is from Urban Decay and it is called Sin. I received this in my Ipsy bag and it is so incredibly pigmented. It has a neutral color that I believe would match almost every skin tone. urbanhigh4.jpg

Nyx cosmetics always has a place in my blog posts. This highlight called Synthetic is the most beautiful pinky coral color that gives such brightness to my skin. This is the ultimate summer highlight. highnyx.jpg

And the last is from Jeffree Starr Cosmetics called King Tut. It is a bronze color but it is the most pigmented highlight of the others I talked about in this post. Not to mention the size of this highlight. You really get so much for you money and a little bit goes such a long way. tuthigh.jpg

Highlighters are my jam to make my face glow like a disco ball, and these 4 are amazing highlighters to make shine so bright and the price range of these highlighters range from about 5 dollars to about$30. You are sure to love one of these, so go and glow like the sun!

June Ipsy Bag!

Hello all! I hope you are well. June is here and so is my Ipsy glam bag of the month! It arrived Tuesday of this week and I actually wasn’t very happy with the products I received so I wasn’t going to write a post about it but my blog isn’t about everything I like. Sometimes, products don’t work for me but I can always make them work if I want to give it a chance! I am looking on the positive side to see if I can make these products work for me.

The first product is from Nyx.. I love this brand to pieces! However, I received the Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle. I don’t use blush, but I could potentially use this on my eyes and lips instead.

The next product is from Beauty For Real. It is their I-Line 24/7 Eyeliner in 24 Karat which is a shimmer gold shade. I typically just go for a standard black liner and don’t really have any reason to wear a gold liner. But I could use this to make black winged liner look a bit more unique by outlining it with 24 Karat.beautyrealeye.jpgFullSizeR (1).jpg

Pure Brazilian is a brand that I have received before from Ipsy and it came to good use to me with the leave in conditioner. This month, I recevied their Shine Ultra Light Nourishing Oil. My hair tends to be on the oily side so I wasn’t too excited to receive this but today I used it on the ends of my hair and it made it feel so soft and shiny. purebraz.jpg

The Balm Cosmetics is a brand that I am always happy to get from. Using blush however, is not something that I ever use…because…confession time…. don’t know how to use it. I am trying to make this product work so I will look at some YouTube tutorials to learn the ways of using a blush…or I could use this as an eyeshadow. balmblush.jpg

The last product is from Luna Cosmetics in a pink shade called Jace. This was the product I was most excited to see until I opened the packaging. The shadow has broken and loose shadow was all over. The eyeshadow containter was also broken so I don’t think I’ll be keeping this shadow which I am disappointed about because the color looks so pretty!jaceeye.jpg

To the bag! This was probably my most favorite thing about this Ipsy glam bag. It’s pretty cute and I love the lip and the color block pattern. IMG_8816.jpg

That was my June Ipsy bag! What did you get in your June Ipsy Glam bag?

Night-time skincare routine!

Hello! When I began a skincare routine, I would have way more than I should have and would layer product after product. Recently, I cut down immensely to just the essentials that I knew worked for me. I went from applying layer after layer of products and I never truly saw a difference. Depending on if I needed to treat a spot or two, now the products would go to are aroud 4-5. My night time skincare routine is that is all about hydration so lets talk!

I have fallen into the Micellar Water craze to take my makeup off. I’ve been so resistant against using it for the longest time, but I don’t like how my face feels after using coconut oil or makeup wipes to do the job because my face will be left feeling oily or soaking. So I thought, why not try something new that could potentially make my face feel good after taking my makeup off. This micellar water from Garnier makes my face feel so soft and it takes half the time it usually takes to remove my makeup.

Once I remove my makeup, I cleanse my face to make sure that I get any residual makeup off. Depending on how my face it looking (breakout, rough skin, etc.) I will use my H20 Cleanser or my Garnier Pore Purifying Cleanser. I use my Vanity Planet Brush to clean my face and will switch the exfoliator and cleanse brush head out every other day.

My face is now feeling free of makeup, dirt and is squeaky clean. Now it’s time to reintroduce my skin to some moisture. I go to my Dermasil oil-free facial moisturizer. This is a rich and thick moisturizer that leaves my face so quenced with hydration.

After I have let Dermasil do it’s magic and absorb, I go for Deciem’s Hyaluronic Acid, drop about 2-3 drops into my palm and press it into my skin, focusing on any dry patches. Deciem has become a new skin care love of mine and I am in love with this product.

Once my skin is nice and moisturized, If there are any spots or oncoming spots, I will either go to my Garnier Clay Pore Cleanser or my Indian Healing Clay mask and apply a dot onto any problem areas. And that’s that! I am really wanting to incorportate an eye cream so if you have any reccommendation, let a girl know!

Current Foundation- Maybelline Fit Me

Hello! Let’s talk foundation..

I have been struggling with foundations lately. Particularly drugstore foundations because they are so limited in color and tones. I have found very few that have acheived a matte finsih while also controlling my oily t-zone. My t-zone tends to get oily after a few hours and I am someone who uses very minimal powder because I hate feeling all powdery.

Now I have heard so much about Maybelline’s Fit Me foundation and I was very iffy about buying it because I was never really fond of any of Maybelline’s foundations. However, this foundation was about $6 at the drugstore and I noticed they catered to normal, dry and oily skin and I have never really seen this before. So, I gave in and picked up the Fit Me foundation Matte+Poreless in Soft Tan.

Game changer….

The very first time I applied this foundation, it was like I applied a filter that covered my imperfections, pores while also controlling my oily t-zone. I have never used a foundation that has acheived such an instant matte look. I was able to also find the perfect color that fit my skin tone. I am very happy with this foundation as it checks everything off on my list that I look for. Affordable, nice medium coverage, super blendable, long lasting…the list goes on!

Tell me about your favorite drugstore foundation!

Much love,

5 Holy Grail Products!

Hello hello!

We all have those products that we can’t imagine not having. Those products that we will repurchase and not even question it. They are out staples that give our conscious peace, because we know it’s a perfect product and won’t let us down. These are my 5 holy grail products!

I have gone through so many eyeliners from both E.L.F to Benefit and none of them have given me what I wanted until Hard Candy’s Walk The Line Liner in Asphalt. When I bought this liner, I was super intimidated to use it because the brush is long and the formula is so watery. But after using it a few times, I noticed that this liner is so so beautifully dark, it stays where you apply it and it will not fade or smudge once it is dry, and with using fake lashes, it doesn’t gloop onto my lashes. I could go on and on about this liner but all in all, I LOVE THIS LINER.

The next is a product that I have recently been using, but I can already tell it is going to be in  my makeup bag for a while. It is NYX’s Skinny Mascara in black. This mascara surprised me when I saw the brush. It is the smallest brush I have ever seen, but as soon as I used it, I fell in love with how it grabbed all of those lash hairs on my bottom lid. It gave me a doll eye look without the clumps. This mascara is super dark and really gives my lashes such length.

The next product is one I talked about sooo much when I first started my blog, but I am still using it every single day and I still love it as much as I did when I first got it. It is the ever so loved Morphe’s 35o palette. The 35o is like the epitome of a perfect eyeshadow for me. This palette can create so many warm toned looks whether it be matte or shimmer. I am still all about this palette.(Mine is very messy and gross but it just shows just how much I have used this product)

The next is a very simple product but to me, it makes all the difference. It is a nude liner from Wet N’ Wild. There are so many brands that sell nude liner but this one from W&N is just as good and it cost $1. This liner is the difference from looking like I had no sleep to looking like I’ve slept for a week straight. Apart from using this as a waterline liner, I also found that this is perfect for fixing up eyeliner mistakes.

The last is a highlight that I have also been using consistently since I purchased it. Coloupop’s Wisp is the perfect highlight for my skintone. It is perfect for a subtle highlight, but it is also buildable to create a dewy, luminous glow. I love that this is a creamy consistency so it will lay soft on my skin instead of powdery like other highlighters tend to do. This was my first Colourpop purchase this highlight is all things perfect.

January Ipsy Glam Bag

Hello hello!

Winter has begun and that means layers of warm cozy clothes, all the blankets and hot chocolate and January’s Ipsy glam bag!  This month’s glam bag includes a concealer and a primer among other things so lets get to it!

The first product is from It Cosmetics and it’s their Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Concealer. This concealer is nice and thick and for me, I love myself a good thick concealer. This is a waterproof and full coverage concealer and I am loving it so far! It is filled with Hydrolyzed Collagen, Peptides, Hyaluronic Acid and Antioxidants. Did I mention it is also paraben and crueltly free?!

The second item is from Star Crushed Minerals and it’s their Metallic Eye shadow in Aged to Perfection Champagne. This is a loose shadow pigment and while I don’t tend to use metallic eye shadows, I can definitely see myself trying this product out as a highlight.

I also received a brush from Crown Brush and it’s their C405 Contour Blush Brush. This is another product that I will be using to my own liking. I don’t wear blush, but who says you can’t use it as any other brush?! Oh the possibilities!

I love trying out new primers and this one has impressed me and I have only been using it for two days. Temptu Base Smooth and Matte Primer is oil-free, hypoallergenic and controls my oils that I tend to get on my t-zone area. This is definitely my  favorite product in my January glam bag.

The last product is from ClariSea and it’s their Instant Glow Lavender Powder Exfoliant. I used this for the first time last night and I was amazed at how my face looked. At first, I was confused as to how to use it since it is a powder exfoliant. It’s something I’ve never used but all you do is add equal parts of the powder and equal amounts of whatever facial cleanser you use. This stuff smells amazing and it made my skin look and feel fresh and glowy. (I’m thinking about buying the full sized version of this product ;))

And those are all the things I received in my January Glam Bag from Ipsy. If you have any of these products, let me know how you like them!
